LOCAL ACTIVITY &
TOURIST INFORMATION

South Yorkshire
This surprisingly rural County includes much of the 'Dark Peak' area of the Peak District National Park, the South Pennines and their rolling eastern flanks and the large area of countryside towards the Humber. There is wild moorland, mellow countryside and lots of things to see and do.
It is crossed by the Trans-Pennine Trail.
Information can be had from Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham & Sheffield Tourist Information Centres as well as the Yorkshire Tourist Board.
There is a good public transport system within and to the County.
